Belper Sub-Aqua Club was formed in 1973 and is affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club. It currently has members of both sexes and all ages and qualifications. The Club meets every Wednesday evening, 8:00 – 9:00 at Belper Leisure Centre swimming pool and afterwards at the Greyhound Inn on Whitemoor Lane.
Diving takes place at locations all around the British Isles and is usually arranged on weekends from February to November. Foreign trips are also arranged to many different destinations.
The Club owns two 6.25 meter rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) each with 150 hp outboard engine, VHF radio, GPS navigation, chart plotters and echo sounder. Safety equipment in the form of distress flares, first aid kit, radar reflectors and emergency breathing oxygen is also carried on each boat.
